Understanding Ammonium Recovery
The presence of the ammonium ion such as ammoniacal nitrogen in industrial
process waters or wastewaters causes problems of environmental degradation due
to its negative impacts on air, soil and water.
For this problem, we have specific membranes (gas / liquid) to capture
or extract the ammonium and in this way allow the reuse of the process waters.
The interesting thing is that it allows us to extract the ammonium from
a gas or a liquid and also concentrate it to give it a commercial outlet
already in a concentrated and sale format.
This industrial-level technology is emerging and is based on the use of
specific liquid / gas membranes for the non-destructive extraction of NH3.
